2-8-2011.. the wind howls

One of the things i love about winter is the absence of leaves on the trees.  Everything is much more open, and you see things you just cannot see, might not notice in summer.

On my recent trek through town i took note of  a little enclave of twins sporting sheds at the back end of their property.

This area had been a horse corral when we first moved here thirty years ago. The occupant had been a horse like Roy Rodgers,  "Trigger", a palomino.   As the owner aged,  the property was eventually sold to a developer and 2 sets of twins went up in its place.  Neat Homes, small yards enclosed by fences, common driveway, but no garages.  Everyone had a shed....then  2.  Then there was a fabric garage that  popped up also.

What was so interesting to me, was the smoke coming from one of the sheds, a heat source.   OK, if you are spending any amount of time in an outside building you definitely need heat.  but these sheds are not that big...
unless you  attach 2 or 3.  Then you have a nifty little home away from home.
Honestly, this area, behind the neat houses, is  looking more and more like a hobo camp, and now with heat too!

I guess this is the country way to have a man cave when there is no basement or garage.
