Monday noon weather report called for freezing sleet/rain early evening, turning to rain overnight. The first real winter weather advisory! I took my self our to the store to pick up what was on my shopping list. cat food for sure, lunch, odds and ends that i had been missing for a few weeks.
Always interesting to see what ends up in the cart when you suspect a day of being house bound by winter weather. i did pick up bread (how could i not?!) a great salad for lunch. small rolls for a future dinner. small container of sliced ham, just on the off chance i had the urge for grilled ham and cheese sandwiches (which i generally NEVER eat). pretzels..dog treats, and a few more artificial Christmas flowers to continue decoration the wreath at the back door.
As forecast, the sleet started in earnest around 8. Quickly coated the highway, sidewalk and driveway. The precipitation was short lived. By 11 it was over. By 3 a.m. dog walking, the temperatures outside were already in the low 30's. no accumulation, most of what fell was melted except for a few slippery places.
Rain forecast for today all day... and it is dark dark gray. Next system to arrive will be a wild and windy one.
No snow is OK... but i do hope we get one good snow before winter is over.
