Wednesday was initially supposed to be a sunny day. The deluge of Tuesday changed into a damp Wednesday with sprinkles no matter where you were. I had company. A long time friend came up from mid county for the day. We took a little drive out to Berks county to visit the cinnamon shop, an antiques/collectible shop, mostly primitive things, but in a beautiful stone building with all sorts of nooks and crannies. My friend found an Easter decorated egg for her spring themed decorating and i picked up a few frogs for the pond area. We had a light lunch and discussed the problems of the world and how to solve them (Don't we always??) It was a pleasant day and after driving my friend home, i ended the day at 4 p.m. back home.
Joan and i always have a bag of stuff for each other. things we pick up knowing the other will enjoy or are looking for. I finally got my purple wegmans reusable shopping bag and more books to add to my 'to be read' collection. I had a few "fall'' themed things for Joan as it is a season she enjoys.
I like fresh flowers and Joan surprised me with two huge bunches of small pink roses. I found a big, light green, wide mouth vase and was able to get most of the roses in. The vase is one of two that were my moms "McCoy", which is a collectible name now. The little table topper is actually a pillow sham i picked up for $4. Though it would look interesting on the table and it does!
