4-2-2011 ........later that same day.....

Thursday, March 24th was a busy day. packing for the retreat, and feeling that i needed to leave the house spic and span clean ( as if anyone would care).

We all arrive between 10 and 2. carry our things inside. making up beds, unpacking food and setting up sewing stations. The party atmosphere starts immediately.

The retreat was wonderful.  everyone sewing, laughing, eating and sharing stories and jokes.  We were blessed to have a group of 12 that got along well.
One of the friends Loves cooking and besides a great dinner of beef brisket and scallop potatoes she cooked us all breakfast every morning.  bacon and eggs and even tasty french toast.

We had 2 other great dinners; a turkey casserole, and veggie & meat lasagna.  Lunches were just as tasty; fab made- from- scratch chicken soup and a hot roast beef with cheese sandwiches. wonderful salads were available with dinners and lunch. we had left overs one day and it was still a treat.

Desserts were a category all to themselves. we had such a variety that we could sample a different dessert for every meal..... breakfast, lunch and dinner! There was some healthy things too. apples cheese, cranberries, mixed fruit, a nice fruit tray of mellons. we had just about anything you could imagine or want.

we generally sewed into the wee hours of the morning, and everyone seemed to be of a different sleep schedule. I slept so little.... i was amazed.  (but i made up for it Tuesday by sleeping 'round the clock!)

Sunday afternoon we start to pack up early.  Packing bedding and food, sewing implements and projects.  Cleaning up our rental house, and leaving it better than when we found it.  Finally taking turns jockeying for positing at the front door and packing cars.

All in all, it was a wonder mini vacation.  We have started plans for retreat 2012, same basic weekend in March.  new this year is a dinner meeting in june to continue the fellowship we started at the retreat and plan for other sewing together opportunities.

It was good to get home.  I made an easy pasta dinner, and prepared to relax with a few of the sunday tv shows i enjoy.  Monday morning, i woke to an empty house and immediately missed the 11 ladies i spent the long weekend with.

I hope there will be many more opportunities to sit together chat, sew and be creative.

Sew many projects Bee....
 hugs all around.
